The founder of Glucias Eatery

A note from Glucias

Real food. Kinder days.

I was diagnosed with celiac disease about five years ago after struggling with ongoing stomach pain, bloating, joint pain, and other symptoms I couldn’t make sense of. Getting answers was a relief, but it also meant learning a completely new way of living. Eating out, traveling, and even simple everyday meals suddenly came with so much more thought and worry.

That experience stayed with me, and it became the reason behind Glucias. I wanted to create a place where people with celiac can feel understood, cared for, and excited about food again, a place where they don’t have to feel left out or different.

Why it matters

More than a diet. It's a life.

National Celiac Disease Awareness Day is September 13. Here's what it actually means.

What it is

Celiac disease is an autoimmune condition where consuming gluten triggers an immune response that damages the small intestine. Not a choice, a trend, or an intolerance. A serious medical condition.

What it looks like

  • Bloating, diarrhea, abdominal pain
  • Fatigue and headaches
  • Skin reactions
  • Iron, B12 and vitamin D deficiencies
  • Joint pain

How you can help

  • Educate yourself and others
  • Be respectful of gluten free needs
  • Support gluten free businesses
  • Help create inclusive spaces
  • Spread awareness every day

General awareness information from Glucias Eatery. Not medical advice. Talk to a healthcare professional about diagnosis or treatment.
